Cycling Hanoi to Siemreap
This cycling challenge as we bike from Vietnam to Cambodia!
This breathtaking bike ride is one of the best in the world of cycling holiday events and will take us from Vietnam’s Hanoi , Hue , Hoi An to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) to the ancient temples of Angkor Wat in Cambodia. Upon arrival, we’ll have time to explore the fascinating city of Hanoi – the heart of Vietnam – before we commence with our cycling challenge.
Our 700km cycle route will take us through many traditional Vietnamese villages, following gorgeous streams and rivers, passing paddy fields and adjacent to stunning mountains. Few locals will have seen foreigners cycling past, and their interest and hospitality will spur on even the most tired cyclist
Day 1: HaNoi arrival
Pick up from airport and transfer to hotel. Afternoon visit Hanoi city. Overnight in Hanoi

Day 2: Halong boat cruise(B,L,D) no cycling
Free time in the morning until 11:30, transfer to Halong boat central.
Join boat excursion Halong bay with Canary boat
Overnight on boat ( 2 private cabin )
Day 3: Halong bay- Hanoi(B,L)
in the morning still folow boat cruise programme , lunh on boat. Boat will cuise back and drop off around 12h:00. Meet van driving back to Hanoi
d rop-off at your hotel. Your Halong Bay cruise trip ends at around 5 pm. Overnight in Hanoi (B,L)

Day4: Hanoi – HoaBinh-Mai Chau (cycling 52 km) (B,L,D)
Breakfast. Early morning transfer to Hoabinh a beautiful valley surrounded by spectacular karst rock formations and picturesque rice paddies. Bikes along a mix of asphalt road through Thai village and across rice paddies to Lac village.
Overnight in a traditional house as home stay
Day5: MaiChau-Cam Thuy- Cuc Phuong national park (+- 45km) (B,L,D)
After breakfast , we start cycling in village when we sleep . The road to day has 10% dirt road, and 10km up hill ( 8%) and down hill on the back road to Pho Doan, Canh Nang. We end of cycling in here and driving to Cuc Phuong National park. Overnight in a small hotel and simple in National Park.
Day6: Cuc Phuong – Thanh Hoa( cycling 50km) (B,L,D)
After listening to the dawn chorus of Gibbon song, spend part of the morning exploring the flora and fauna of this unique national park. Leaving Cuc Phuong ride down to Vinh Loc where we have lunch time. Transfer the last 35 km on Highway 1 to the hotel in Thanh Hoa city where have hotel for few hours. Dinner and transfer to train station take over night train to Hue.
Overnight on train ( soft sleeper, 4 beds/cabin ) ( 12hours on train )
Day 7:Hue –country side cycling ( +-55km )
Morning transfer from train station to Hotel , Cycling through Hue’s King Royal Palace, a succession of Nguyen Dynasty . Afternoon cycling to country side until 5PM transfer back to city. Dinner in garden house.

Day 8: Hue to Hoi An (+- 60km asphalt road ) .Cycling in back road of country side from Hue to VinhHai beach ( +-70 km flat asphalt road ) .
Optional climb for biking trip: Hai van pass: 19 km ( 9km up, 10 km down, altitude +- 400m ).
Our route passes by rural villages and picturesque Lang Co lagoon, an ascent of the pass with stunning views of the coast and a thrilling 5-mile descent from the top of the green rice fields around DaNang. End of cycling in DaNang city, drive 32 km to HoiAn.Overnight in Hoian (B,L,D)

Day 9: HoiAn (+- 20km )
Cycling tour of HoiAn – country side villages in the morning for Vietnamese cooking lessons in town featuring local specialties by one of VietNam’s most talented chefs . Local sea food in beach of HoiAn.

Day 10: HoiAn to MyKhe- Quang Ngai , cycling +-60 km, asphalt road
Depart early along the coast and past scenic rice village. Start coastal riding followed by coaster, lunch at some where on the way – which is also a nice place for a dip in the cooling South China Sea. Driving to Quang Ngai, Overnight in Quang Ngai city. (B,L, D)

Day 11: Quang Ngai to Quy Nhon, cycling +- 50 km¸ asphalt road
Cycling in the back road of past rural rice villages canopied by swaying coconut palm. Arrive at the Quy Nhon town which faces a beautiful beach front.

Day 12: QuyNhon to TuyHoa- Nha Trang, cycling +- 80, asphalt road
Back road cycling in side high way one .Our ride from QuyNhon to Tuy Hoa covers some of VietNam’s scenic coastline, featuring deserted blue lagoons and stone promontories. Transfer to Nha Trang. Overnight in Nha Trang (B,L, D)

Day 13: NhaTrang – country side cycling ( +- 25 km ).
Driving to Dien Khanh , Cycling in country side visit village, rice field , fruit garden. Riding back to the city visit Thap Ba ( Pogana Temple ). Pm relaxing on beach. Overnight in Nhatrang. (B)

Day 14: NhaTrang – Saigon ( HoChiMinh city ) no cycling day
Driving to Nha Trang airport take a flight to Hochiminh city. Overnight in Hochiminh city. (B,L)
Day 15: Ho Chiminh city

Day:16 : Hochiminh city to Cambodia
After breakfast we set off for the Vietnam/Cambodia border at Moc Bai and catch our first glimpses of rural Cambodian life as we start an easy cycle past traditional wooden house on stilts framed by a backdrop of vast rice fields.
Day17 : Phnom Penh to Kampong Thom via the breathtaking Udong Mountain. Distance cycled 89km After breakfast we cycle out of Phnom Penh towards the Japanese bridge and though our first riding will be on a busy stretch of road we will soon be in quiet Cambodian countryside. We stop for a visit to the ancient capital of Oudong then head north-west to Kompong Thom
Day 18 – Kampong Thom to Siem Reap. Distance 60km We start with a short transfer for a long ride to Siem Reap. Our goal is to reach the Western Gate of Angkor Wat to watch the sun set over the sugar palm trees.
Day19: Siemreap biking
This morning we start our bike ride to the entrance of Angkor Wat and head to Ta Prohm, famous from the film Tomb Raider and explore Angkor Wat, considered the masterpiece of Khmer architecture.
Day20: Departure day
Free time before we head to the airport to catch your flight
